Helios-Huaming Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd aims to provide new solutions in the treatment of cancers and autoimmune diseases. The company is developing first-in-class inhibitors targeting a novel protein which, as an epigenetic enzyme, plays an essential role in cancer growth and metastasis as well as in multiple autoimmune diseases including Rheumatoid Arthritis, thrombosis, multiple sclerosis, wound healing in diabetes patient etc. Founders of the company includes Dr. Yanming Wang, Dr. Jinquan Sun and Dr. Gong Chen. The founders had worked on the target protein for more than 15 years and their scientific discoveries have been reported by NIH News, Science News etc.

    Yanming Wang Chairman of Board/Founder

    Dr. Yanming Wang is a Key Opinion Leader in the field. As a biochemist by training, Dr. Wang has been working on the target for nearly 20 years. He firstly discovered the function of the target in citrullination and later on, his studies expand to functional studies in cellular and rodent models, which leads to the development of a tool inhibitor. Up to now, Dr. Wang has published more than 20 scientific papers on this target alone (cited over 15000 times).

    Yan Xia VP, MedChem

    Dr. Yan Xia has worked more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 28 years in Schering-Plough. After graduating from the department of Chemistry, Nankai University, Dr. Yan Xia, received a World Bank scholarship and went to the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a doctorate degree in organic synthesis. Dr. Yan Xia participated in the research and development of more than 10 drugs in the area of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, central nervous system and hepatitis, and won the Edison Invention Award twice. Dr. Xia has published more than 70 academic papers and patents.

    Gong Chen Board Member/Co-Founder

    Dr. Gong Chen has been working in the department of Chemistry of Penn State University since 2008Since March 2015, he has been working the State Key Laboratory of Organic Chemistry in Nankai university. Dr. Chen has published more than 50 papers and has 1 granted patent, He has won many awards for the excellence in research including the award for US - NSF CAREER, Thieme Chemistry Journal Award, Amgen Young Investigator Award.
